Rumors are true... Songbird Cafe is closed for good. It was a great and wonderful experience that I will cherish forever. Interestingly, a week before we closed the cafe a Song Sparrow flew into the cafe and trapped itself in the window. It was the first time a bird flew into the cafe. I walked over to the window and held out my hand. I was surprised when the bird jumped into my hand. I held onto him, walked outside, and let the little Songbird go. I thought it was a beautiful sign that the time was right for a change.
I am currently working in studio on my Artwork, as well as working as the Program Director of Chameleon Arts and Youth Development agency (working with homeless kids and "at risk" youth), and every once and a while helping out at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center.
Thank you for your interest and support of the cafe. It was a wonderful experience and time in my life!
Sincerely, Courtney Wasson
